He’s Got the Power
1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
1. Trust in God for the Removal of the Spiritual Barriers to Ministry. (Vs. 11, 2 Thess 2:16, John 10:30, 1 Cor 16:5)
a. 2 Thessalonians 2:16a, “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father.”
b. John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.”
c. 1 Corinthians 16:5, “I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia—for I will be traveling through Macedonia…”
2. Trust in God to Provide an Abundance of Love. (Vs. 12, John 13:34-35, Mark 12:31)
a. John 13:34-35, ““I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
b. Mark 12:31, “The second is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”
3. Trust in God to Secure our Hearts at His Coming. (Vs. 13, 2 Cor 5:10, Rom 14:10, 1 John 3:18-20)
a. 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”
b. Romans 14:10, “But you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.”
c. 1 John 3:18-20, “Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth. This is how we will know that we belong to the truth and will reassure our hearts before him whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows all things.”
