God’s Not Dead!
1. The Impact and Glory of Jesus Can’t Be Stopped. (Matthew 27:62-63, Acts 4:17-18)
Acts 4:17-18, But so that this does not spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them against speaking to anyone in this name again.” So they called for them and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
Luke 19:37-40, Now he came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven! Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out.”
2. The Words of Jesus Are Alive and Powerful. (Matthew 27:63, Hebrews 4:12-13, Isaiah 55:11)
Hebrews 4:12-13, For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
Isaiah 55:11, so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.
3. The Herculean Efforts of Men To “Kill Him” Only Prove Their Weakness. (Matthew 27:64-66, Acts 7:54-56)
Acts 7:54-56, When they heard these things, they were enraged and gnashed their teeth at him. Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven. He saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. He said, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!
