The KING of Glory!
Matthew 21:1-11
1. The King Rightful! (Matthew 21:1-5a, Hebrews 6:13, Colossians 1:15-17, John 1:18)
Hebrews 6:13, For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself.
Colossians 1:15-17, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.
John 1:18, No one has ever seen God. The one and only Son, who is himself God and is at the Father’s side—he has revealed him.
2. The King of Peace! (Matthew 21:5b-6, Isaiah 9:6, John 3:17)
Isaiah 9:6, For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
John 3:17, For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
3. The King of Nature! (Matthew 21:7, Mark 4:37-41)
Mark 4:37-41, A great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re going to die?” He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Then he said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” And they were terrified, and asked one another, “Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!”
4. The King of Glory! (Matthew 21:8-11, Psalms 24:7-10, Revelation 1:12-18)
Psalm 24:7-10, Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD of Armies, he is the King of glory
Revelation 1:12-18, Then I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke to me. When I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was one like the Son of Man, dressed in a robe and with a golden sash wrapped around his chest. The hair of his head was white as wool—white as snow—and his eyes like a fiery flame. His feet were like fine bronze as it is fired in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of cascading waters. He had seven stars in his right hand; a sharp double-edged sword came from his mouth, and his face was shining like the sun at full strength. When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last, and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
