“A Sure Thing” Part 1
Daniel 3
1. People Act Against God:
a. To Be Remembered. (Vs. 1-3, Matt 6:16)
i. Matthew 6:16, ““Whenever you fast, don’t be gloomy like the hypocrites. For they disfigure their faces so that their fasting is obvious to people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward.”
b. To Be Revered. (Vs. 4-6, Matt 20:25-26a)
i. Matthew 20:25-26a, “Jesus called them over and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions act as tyrants over them. It must not be like that among you.”
c. To Be Rebellious. (Vs. 7-23, Rom 1:18-23)
i. Romans 1:18-23, “For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them…As a result, people are without excuse. For though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became worthless, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.”
