It’s Not About You Part 1
Daniel 4
1. Knowing About God Isn’t Knowing God. (Vs. 1-3, James 2:19)
a. James 2:19, “You believe that God is one. Good! Even the demons believe—and they shudder.”
2. Sleeping Well Doesn’t Equate to Living in Peace. (Vs. 4, Jer 6:14-15)
a. Jeremiah 6:14-15, “They have treated my people’s brokenness superficially,
claiming, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they acted so detestably? They weren’t at all ashamed. They can no longer feel humiliation. Therefore, they will fall among the fallen. When I punish them, they will collapse, says the Lord.”
3. Being “Wise” Doesn’t Always Mean Knowing the Answers. (Vs. 5-18, 1 Cor 1:20-21)
a. 1 Corinthians 1:20-21, “Where is the one who is wise? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish? For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom, God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of what is preached.”
