Who Let the Dogs Out?
Matthew 15:21-31
1. The Messiah is Uniquely Jewish.
a. He Came from the Jews. (Matthew 15:22, Jeremiah 33:17)
Jeremiah 33:17, For this is what the LORD says: David will never fail to have a man sitting on the throne of the house of Israel.
b. He Came for the Jews…First. (Matthew 15:24, Matthew 4:24-25, John 4:22)
Matthew 4:24-25, Then the news about him spread throughout Syria. So they brought to him all those who were afflicted…And he healed them. Large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
John 4:22, You Samaritans worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.
2. Jesus Responds to the:
a. Poor in Spirit. (Matthew 15:23, Matt 5:3)
Matthew 5:3, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
b. Mournful. (Matthew 5:4)
Matthew 5:4, Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
c. Humble of Heart. (Matthew 15:25-27, Matthew 5:5)
Matthew 5:5, Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.
3. The Time of Salvation has Come to ALL that Will Come to Jesus in Faith (not Privilege). (Matthew 15:329-31)
