Looking for Greener Grass
Psalm 37:1-6
1. Don’t Long for the Life of the Wicked. (Psalm 37:1, Psalm 1:1-3)
Psalm 1:1-3, How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
2. Do Trust and Rejoice in the Faithful Shepherding of the LORD. (Psalm 37:2-4, John 10:11-13)
John 10:11-13, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, since he is not the shepherd and doesn’t own the sheep, leaves them and runs away when he sees a wolf coming. The wolf then snatches and scatters them. This happens because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care about the sheep.
3. The LORD will Be the Defender and Exalter of the One who Commits to Him. (Psalm 37:5-6, Colossians 2:6-7)
Colossians 2:6-7, So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.
