Be Prepared…Still???
Matthew 24:45-25:13
1. Faithful Servants Will Be Found Faithful During the Return of Jesus. (Matthew 24:45-51, 1 John 2:3-6)
1 John 2:3-6, This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commands. The one who says, “I have come to know him,” and yet doesn’t keep his commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his word, truly in him the love of God is made complete. This is how we know we are in him: The one who says he remains in him should walk just as he walked.
2. Looking Prepared and Being Prepared Are Not the Same Thing. (Matthew 25:1-13)
a. Don’t Trust in Appearances Alone. (Matthew 25:1-5, 1 Samuel 16:7)
1 Samuel 16:7, But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature because I have rejected him. Humans do not see what the LORD sees, for humans see what is visible, but the LORD sees the heart.”
b. Only Jesus Can Save You for His Return. (Matthew 25:6-13, Philippians 1:6)
Philippians 1:6, I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
