Blessed in Despair???
Daniel 9:1-19
1. Blessed are The Poor in Spirit. (Vs. 1-7; Jer 25:11-13; Isaiah 44:28; 45:13; Matt 5:3)
a. Jeremiah 25:11-13, “This whole land will become a desolate ruin, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years. When the seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation’—this is the LORD’s declaration—‘the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity, and I will make it a ruin forever. I will bring on that land all my words I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book that Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations.”
b. Isaiah 44:28, “who says to Cyrus, “My shepherd, he will fulfill all my pleasure” and says to Jerusalem, “She will be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Its foundation will be laid.””
c. Isaiah 45:13, “I have stirred him up in righteousness, and will level all roads for him. He will rebuild my city, and set my exiles free, not for a price or a bribe,” says the Lord of Armies.”
d. Matthew 5:3, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.”
2. Blessed are Those Who Mourn. (Vs. 8-14, Matt 5:4)
a. Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
3. Blessed are The Meek. (Vs. 15-19, Matt 5:5)
a. Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.”
b. Matthew 5:5 (NIV 84), “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.”
