The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Ephesians 1:7-14
1. The Man: THE Christ of God. (Vs. 9)
a. In God’s Timing. (Vs. 10, Gal 4:4-5)
i. Galatians 4:4-5, “When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”
b. By God’s Will. (Vs. 11)
2. The Myth: Seclusion and Separation.
a. Clarified in Conclusion. (Vs. 10, Acts 17:24-27)
i. Acts 17:24-27, “The God who made the world and everything in it—he is Lord of heaven and earth—does not live in shrines made by hands. Neither is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives everyone life and breath and all things. From one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live. He did this so that they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
b. Equality in Salvation. (Vs. 12)
i. Galatians 3:27-29, “For those of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ. There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise.”
