1 Peter 5:10-14
1. Life is Testing but Temporary; God’s Grace is Extraordinary and Eternal! (Vs. 10, Ecc 1:2-4, Jas 4:14, 2 Cor 5:1,
a. Ecclesiastes 1:2-4, ““Absolute futility,” says the Teacher. “Absolute futility. Everything is futile.” What does a person gain for all his efforts that he labors at under the sun? A generation goes and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever.”
b. James 4:14, “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.”
c. 2 Corinthians 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens, not made with hands.”
d. Revelation 21:21-23, “The twelve gates are twelve pearls; each individual gate was made of a single pearl. The main street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. I did not see a temple in it, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
2. God Is Always in Control, let Him: (Vs. 11)
a. Make You Complete. (Vs. 11, Luke 22:31, Isa 45:7-12)

ii. Isaiah 45:7-12, “I [The LORD is speaking] form light and create darkness, I make success and create disaster; I am the Lord, who does all these things…I, the Lord, have created it. “Woe to the one who argues with his Maker—one clay pot among many. Does clay say to the one forming it, ‘What are you making?’…This is what the Lord, the Holy One of Israel and its Maker, says:…I made the earth, and created humans on it. It was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded everything in them.”
b. Strengthen Your Heart. (Vs. 11)
c. Strengthen Your Resolve. (Vs. 11)
d. Be Your Foundation. (Vs. 11)
3. Hang in There! (Vs. 12-14, Heb 3:4-6, 1 Tim 4:16)
a. Hebrews 3:4-6, “Now every house is built by someone, but the one who built everything is God. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future. But Christ was faithful as a Son over his household. And we are that household if we hold on to our confidence and the hope in which we boast.”
b. 1 Timothy 4:16, “Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
