How does the separation of church and state actually work in practical terms? We don’t believe the church should run the government nor do we believe the government should interfere with our worship. Does that mean that our faith never intersects with our civil duties? Does it mean that God has one standard for the government and another for the church? Does it mean that God doesn’t care what happens in the government because it isn’t the church? Romans 13 addresses the purpose of the government and our relationship to it FOR Him. We must give to Caesar only what belongs to him—for God alone is worthy of our worship.
